When: Thursday of Holy Week.

Holy Thursday recalls the Last (Mystical) Supper, when Christ washed His disciples’ feet and gave them His Body and Blood in bread and wine, instituting the Eucharist. It also remembers His prayer in Gethsemane and His betrayal by Judas.

The Divine Liturgy of St Basil is served in the morning. In the evening the Matins of Great Friday is served with the reading of the Twelve Passion Gospels.

A little wine and oil are allowed on this day in honor of the Supper.
